Capital band get on the bus for Hogmanay

CITY band Bwani Junction have been tuning up on top of a bus as they prepare for their Hogmanay gig in Princes Street Gardens.

The quartet – made up Rory Fairweather, Dan Muir, Fergus Robson and Jack Fotheringham – saw their album Fully Cocked nominated for the Scottish Album of the year.

They will open the Hogmanay Concert in the Gardens for headliners Simple Minds and special guests The View. Bwani Junction’s rooftop rehearsal came as Lothian Buses announced it would provide a free service to get revellers home after the Hogmanay bash, with routes from the city centre to a range of destinations leaving between 12.20am and 4am. Lead guitarist Dan Muir said “It’s going to be a rammy. Can’t belittle the Loony Dook in Queensferry the morning after though.”

Tickets for the Enclosure are sold out, while Gardens tickets are still available at www.edinburghshogmanay.com

Other acts performing on the night include The Maccabees, Reverend and the Makers, Admiral Fallow and Lau.

Pete Irvine, artistic director of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay, said “With Bwani Junction kicking off Hogmanay and free bus transport home, it’s set to be a fantastic evening.”
