Businessman loses cash bid

A BUSINESSMAN who was cleared of cocaine-dealing charges has been stripped of £1545 under Proceeds of Crime legislation.

Gary Yorke, 45, had been trying to recover the cash, which was confiscated by officers, at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

Mr Yorke was acquitted along with four other men after a trial at the High Court in Edinburgh last December at which Kenneth Glen, a golf professional at the Royal Musselburgh Golf Club, pleaded guilty to drugs charges.
