Bus incident man charged

A MAN has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged sexual offence onboard a bus in Midlothian.

The incident is alleged to have taken place on the number 3 bus to Mayfield on Sunday afternoon. A 17-year-old girl boarded the bus at Gorebridge before a man got on and sat next to her. He is then alleged to have touched her.

Police today said a 58-year-old man had been charged. He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date.
