Bank cardholder falls prey
to cash machine thieves

Thieves took a woman’s bank card while she was inside a shop alerting staff about an unusual device at a cash machine outside.

The woman went to the bank machine outside Scotmid on Gracemount Drive at about 8.30am on Monday to withdraw cash, but her card was withheld.

She then noticed a silver device placed over the machine and went into the shop to report the incident to staff. However, when she returned, the device and her bank card had been removed.

After looking at CCTV, two men were revealed to have taken the items while the woman was in the shop.

The card was then used shortly afterwards at a nearby Tesco store to withdraw £80.

Both men are described as white and in their late 20s. One was slim and had a thin face and pointed chin. The other man is described as having a muscular build, broad shoulders, black hair and sideburns.
