Appeal to trace victim

Police have appealed for help to identify a woman who was mugged in Newington on Thursday.

The woman, who is described as being of Chinese appearance, had her mobile phone stolen in Sciennes at around 10.15pm.

A member of the public witnessed the incident and alerted police, who detained four suspects in Lauriston Place.

It is not known whether the woman suffered any injury as a result of the incident. Police are trying to trace her.
