All hooplah for world record bid

AN attempt at breaking the world record for the largest hula hoop workout is to be made in Edinburgh.

The bid is being organised to mark the reopening of the refurbished Sheraton Grand Hotel on April 19.

The record stands at 221 people, and organisers are hoping they will get at least 250 to join in the fun in Festival Square.

Registrations will start from 7.30am and the record attempt will take place between 8.30am and 9am.

It will be hosted by Radio Forth presenter Grant Stott, while the workout will be devised and led by Edinburgh hoop instructor Fiona Blair.

All participants will get a free T-shirt, refreshments and hula hoop and will be entered into a prize draw to win a year’s membership at One Spa.

Register at hula@kaper.uk.com. Find out more on the Sheraton Grand’s Facebook page: www.facebook.com/sheraton.edinburgh
