£600k for pitch works

Sports pitches in Edinburgh are to get the lion’s share of a new cash windfall for sport announced by the city council.

The council’s budget for 2012/13 included an extra £725,000 investment in pitches, pavilions, play areas and allotments.

It has now been confirmed that £600,000 of the money will be ploughed into pitches, with play areas and allotments sharing the rest.
