Jedward to guide tourists

Pop duo Jedward will feature in a new CBBC programme which sees them play tourist guides at Edinburgh Castle.

In Jedward’s Big Adventure, to be screened on February 9, the pair will be given just 24 hours to learn everything there is to know about a World Heritage Site, before having to communicate the facts to a group of tourists.

The Irish singers – famed for their vertical blonde hair – will join Chris Rankin from Harry Potter and Live ’n’ Deadly host Naomi Wilkinson to experience all things medieval and spooky for a day.

The teams will learn about body snatching, the plague and the pirates imprisoned in the Castle – and they will even have the privilege to give the order to fire the One o’Clock Gun.

#1..Agreed! Why allow licence payers money to be stashed away in the Republic of Ireland.? FWIW it would have been better to hire the home-grown Krankies.

I've seen a few clips of this show and it looks really good, I think kids (and adults) will love it, John and Edward are going all over the UK to act as tour guides, Edinburgh Castle is just one of the historical sites featured John and Edward are actually really sweet lads, despite what people think, .they are great role models for kids, they don't drink or do drugs, they don't sleep around and they have a strong work ethic ...they've already done a kids TV show in Ireland, which has been nominated for an award..

I can't think of anyone worse other than common drunken Denise from BB. Neither are real celebs. Inspire they would not. REally and truly whoever came up with this idea really needs their head looking at. Yes get a proper real celebrity but lets have a Scottish one!! Best people would be real scots people who have and display a real passion for Scotland.

Yup, that'll get the "Inspiring Edinburgh" message across for sure and leave tourists with a top notch impression of our fair city. What on earth are Historic Scotland thinking in allowing this?
