Salt caves offer treatment for free on lung disease day
A SALT cave in Edinburgh is offering free treatment for people suffering from respiratory problems.
The facility, on Marionville Road, will offer the treatments on November 16 to mark World Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Day.
The cave opened in June and has equipment which releases tiny salt particles into the air, helping patients to breathe more easily.
Regular visitor Norma McKinnon said: “If World COPD Day can help people who suffer with the disease it has to be a good thing. So the same goes for the salt cave open day, it will give people the chance to experience the treatment to see what it can do for them.
“The salt cave has certainly helped me a lot, especially with my sinuses. It allows me to breathe so much better through my nose, which makes such a difference.”
To reserve a free session, call 0131-5101 091 or just turn up on the day.

Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 05:21 PMSalt Caves have been around for centuries, and are a proven respiratory treatment. In Eastern Europe or even in Germany and in Austria nearly every sports club and hotel has one. Thousands of COPD, Asthma, Sinusitis sufferers in the UK have had their lifestyle improved thanks to visiting a salt cave. So, rather than dismissing something as a quack remedy, I suggest you do some research – you might just be surprised with what you find out.

Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 01:02 PMIs there any actual evidence of this "treatment" working? And if not, just when did the Evening News start carrying ads for quack remedies?
