Ambulances fail clean test
Ambulance chiefs have been told to improve infection control procedures as a matter of priority.
Inspectors from the body set up to tackle infections such as Clostridium difficile and MRSA found the Scottish Ambulance Service did not comply with all the relevant standards put in place to protect staff and patients.
The Healthcare Environment Inspectorate looked at ambulances in hospital accident and emergency departments across the country last month at the city’s ERI and hospitals in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Fife.
