Oldcorn hopes he has Dutch of class for Van Lanschot Senior Tour event
EDINBURGH ace Andrew Oldcorn reckons he’s coming into form just at the right time on the European Senior Tour.
The 52-year-old is in Holland this week for the Van Lanschot Senior Open starting tomorrow.
He was runner-up in the event at Royal Haagsche Golf & Country Club in The Hague two years ago and is feeling confident as he now bids to go one better. A fortnight ago, Oldcorn put up a brave defence of the PGA Seniors title, finishing joint runner-up at Slaley Hall in Northumberland.
“Slaley Hall was a step forward,” said Oldcorn. “It was nice to be in the position of playing under pressure again and that bodes well for the next few weeks. I like the course at Royal Haagsche and I’m looking forward to playing it again. I’ve played well in both of my previous appearances so I feel as though I can play well here.”
The Kings Acre touring pro added: “I started my first two seasons on the Senior Tour well, whereas this year has been more of a steady build-up.
“I’ve got a nice block of three events coming now so hopefully it will be the start of a big summer for me.”
