Selection dilemma for Reds boss
LIVERPOOL boss Brendan Rodgers could face a selection dilemma for his side’s Europa League play-off tie against Hearts, writes SCOTT THOMSON.
The Reds face weekend clashes with Manchester City and Arsenal later this month which may see Rodgers consider resting key players.
The Irishman’s side host current Barclays Premier League champions Manchester City on August 26, three days after the first leg at Tynecastle. They then face Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal on September 2, following the second leg at Anfield.
On Thursday evening, however, when Liverpool faced Belarusian side FC Gomel in the third qualifying round, Rodgers fielded a side which was nearing full strength, including £11 million striker Fabio Borini, Steven Gerrard, Daniel Agger and Stewart Downing.
