New boys in Scottish Cup

THE Scottish Cup will begin on Saturday, August 4 after the SFA announced that the 2012/13 William Hill Scottish Cup competition will include a preliminary round due to an increase in the number of clubs taking part.

Formartine United and Turriff United, of the Highland Football League, will participate in this season’s competition for the first time. Stirling University, a non-member club, will also take part after winning the East of Scotland League.
