CELTIC fans have been praised by the Italian media for their support in the 2-0 defeat to Juventus last night.

Turin sports newspaper Tuttosport said that Celtic fans and Juventus fans got on with each other splendidly. The paper talked of Juventus’ desire to match the atmosphere at Celtic Park, the reason behind the thousands of Juventus flags being placed on fans’ seats.

The atmosphere in the ground was praised by the paper, who printed a picture of Celtic and Juventus fans laughing and joking through the fences dividing the two sets of fans.

Italian sports website Calciomercato also praised the Celtic fans, calling them ‘great’ and that Celtic were worthy opponents of Juventus on the pitch.

Celtic lost 5-0 on aggregate after last night’s 2-0 defeat, with Alessandro Matri and Fabio Qualiagrella scoring last night.
