Welfare keep Tynie at bay

Whitehill Welfare 3

Tynecastle 2

Michael HERD put Whitehill in front in the opening minutes of this Premier Division clash when he broke away unchallenged and his shot nestled low in the corner of the Tynecastle net.

Within a minute, Tynecastle were level when Robbie Arthur picked the ball up on the edge of the box and his powerful shot beat the Whitehill goalkeeper.

Whitehill went back in front when Andrew Kidd broke away from the Tynecastle defence and planted a powerful effort through the legs of John Gilbertson and into the net.

Just before the interval, Whitehill extended their lead when Dayne Robertson picked up on a slack clearance and his delicate chip left Gilbertson with no chance and the ball ended up in the net.

In the second half Tynecastle pulled one back but the comeback wasn’t to be – especially when they had a man sent off.
