Rose sack manager Baikie

Linlithgow ROSE have sacked manager Dave Baikie and his assistants after their 3-1 Super League defeat at Bonnyrigg on Saturday, writes JOHN GILMOUR.

Baikie has paid for a string of poor results, most notably exits from the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup and East of Scotland Cup to fierce rivals Bo’ness and Sauchie respectively.

Baikie, who had been at the club for two-and-a-half years, reached eight cup finals, winning six, including a Scottish Cup victory over Largs. However, that has counted for little.

Baikie today said: “I’m disappointed, but it was a decision not out of the blue. The turning point came when we lost at Bo’ness in the Scottish Cup.

“Losing against the biggest rivals was a major disappointment for everyone. At the end of the day, though, I feel I delivered a lot for the club.”

Linlithgow have put Mark Bradley in temporary charge.
