McNulty vows to get back on goal trail
Marc McNULTY says he’s desperate to get back on the goal trail and return the Lions to winning ways against Dunfermline tomorrow, as Gareth Evans’ men look to bounce back from defeats to Dundee and Partick Thistle.
The striker revealed the Livi squad have been provided with indoor training facilities in an attempt to beat the winter freeze – and the players are determined to make amends for their 4-0 hammering at East End Park earlier in the season.
McNulty said: “As a striker, you want to score every game, but sometimes that doesn’t happen. The last two games have been frustrating in that we’ve had plenty possession but haven’t created as many clear-cut chances as we’d have liked, but I had a chance late on at the weekend that I probably should have scored, so I’ve only got myself to blame for that one and I’m looking ahead to Dunfermline Saturday.
“Everyone at the club was disappointed after the Dundee game. I thought we did quite well, but we lost two early goals and I think that killed the game as they sat in and made it hard.
“The pitches have been a nightmare this week, but the club have been good enough to get us indoor facilities, so it has been a normal week for us and we’ve had good sessions.
“The boys are just preparing for the game and remembering last time where we got a right doing over there, so we’re sort of due them one.”
Back in September, Livi succumbed to a 4-0 defeat to Jim Jeffries’ side, but McNulty reckons that it’s a very different Lions side that will take the field.
He added: “The style of play that had been brought in was relatively new and we didn’t understand it as much, but I think we’ve got to grips with it now and we’re looking forward to putting that right at the weekend.”
