Livi fans to meet chief after SFL vote

LIVINGSTON will hold a fans’ forum on Friday night, in wake of the Scottish Football League’s meeting to decide the future of the newco Rangers.

At the end of this week the SFL member clubs are due to vote on whether the outfit fronted by Charles Green should be permitted to join the Scottish Football league next season – and indeed in which division.

The West Lothian club and the Livi for Life Supporters Trust have jointly organised the forum to discuss the implications of any decision that is taken.

Club chairman Gordon 
McDougall will attend the meeting to give fans the chance to voice their fears and opinions on the ramifications of the vote.

The newly-formed Ibrox side have already been refused 
readmission to the Scottish Premier League after a meeting of member clubs saw all but Kilmarnock vote against them and the Rugby Park outfit choose to abstain.

Scottish Premier League chief executive Neil Doncaster addressed a meeting of the SFL clubs last week and warned that the SPL would be unable to afford to pay the annual settlement agreement, a figure of around £2 million, unless Rangers are allowed to join the First Division.

Doncaster believes that 
allowing Green’s men to play in Scotland’s second tier would go some way to protecting the new and, as yet unsigned, Sky TV deal on the assumption that the new Glasgow club were able to be promoted to the SPL next season.

The fans’ forum will be held in the Meadowbank Suite at the stadium at 7pm.
