Lions so close to away win

Livngston were denied an away win at Cappielow when Morton scored a late equaliser for a 2-2 draw.

Morton took a seventh-minute lead when David O’Brien’s cross was met by striker Peter Weatherson who powered a header into the net.

Livingston dug in, though, and brought the scores level on the 18-minute amrk when Iain Russell scored with a drive after an intelligent pass from Callum Fordyce.

In the 39th minute, John Hughes’ side turned things around when Stefan Scougall headed home to make it 2-1 Livingston at half-time.

The West Lothian side’s hopes of a valuable three points were scuppered when Morton midfielder Tony Wallace brought the scores level with just ten minutes left.
