Hibs have gone for a retro style to their new home kit

HIBERNIAN FC have unveiled their new retro-style kit for the forthcoming season.

Players will pull on the strip - which is a modern take on the club’s original colours of bottle green - for home games at Easter Road, with the club marketing the new strip under the tagline ‘A Hibernian with bottle.’

Bottle green was Hibs’ primary colour before changing to a lighter emerald green in the early 1930’s.

A Hibs spokesman described the new home shirt as having “an eye-catching look that encapsulates the true Hibernian spirit; both nostalgic, paying tribute to our rich history, and also progressive.

He added: “The reaction from fans has been overwhelmingly positive and we hope to unveil a couple of new signings wearing it soon.”

Several fans took to Twitter to pass comment on the new kit, with most tweets expressing delight, although one or two questioned the reasoning behind the colour and styling.

The strip is now available to buy from the club store.
