Galbraith set to miss Hibs’ SPL kick-off
DANNY GALBRAITH has been dealt a blow with the news that he will miss the start of the season because of a groin injury.
The Hibs winger recently had surgery to resolve the problem but his recovery won’t come quickly enough to allow him to play any part in the opening game of the campaign against Dundee United at the beginning of next month.
And Hibs manager Pat Fenlon revealed that the player could, in fact, miss around a month of the new SPL season as he continues on the road to full fitness.
Fenlon said: “Danny had a clean-up operation at the end of last season and is recovering. He is going through his own process of rehabilitation with the physio and I believe that he is not a million miles away from returning to training.
“But he will not be ready to face Dundee United at Tannadice. Danny could be looking at another four to five weeks before he is ready to play games and they will probably only be bounce games at that. When he does play we will want to assess him and monitor his fitness.
“Danny is the only player receiving treatment. We’ve been in pre-season for two weeks and have not picked up any injuries.
“That’s a good sign because normally this is when you do start picking up problems.”
