Pupils earn some green credentials

PRIMARY school pupils have been recognised as Green Ambassadors by Prince Charles during the first ever WWF Green Ambassador Summit at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire.

The youngsters from St Mary’s RC Primary joined more than 60 young ambassadors from nine different schools, who attended the two-day event, along with teachers, WWF representatives and special guests – including Tim and Thom from Channel 4’s television series, Three Hungry Boys.

Nicola Kehoe, headteacher of St Mary’s RC Primary School, said: “It’s a huge feather in the cap of the pupils. They have all worked so hard to improve the school grounds for both children and wildlife.

“As you can imagine the pupils are really excited at having the opportunity to share their experiences with other youngsters.”
