Five schools benefit from £1.3m boost
CHILDREN and young people across West Lothian are set to benefit from a £1.3 million investment.
West Lothian Council said the investment was possible because of savings being made in 2011-12.
The funding will benefit five projects, including Burnhouse School, which will receive a £300,000 boost to improve the learning environment.
A total of £140,000 will be invested in a multi-use games area and £160,000 will be used to refurbish classroom areas and the “cool down” area.
Beatlie School will receive £80,000 for early intervention by ensuring appropriate pre-school provision for children with severe and complex needs.
St John Ogilvie Primary in Deans, St Mary’s Primary in Bathgate, Eastertoun Primary in Armadale and Whitdale Primary in Whitburn will receive £240,000 for new games areas.
