Rapist attacked drunk sleeping woman
A MAN has been convicted of raping a drunk woman while she slept.
Nigerian Kazeem Kadiri sneaked into the woman’s bed in the middle of the night.
A jury at the High Court in Livingston heard his 29-year-old victim admit that she had gone to bed very drunk.
During the night she wakened to find a man lying on top of her, told him to “get off” and pushed him away. He put on his trousers and left.
Kadiri, 38, whose address was given as HM Prison Edinburgh, claimed his victim had consented to sex.
But after four hours’ deliberation the jury returned a majority verdict of guilty.
Judge Lady Stacey deferred sentence for social work reports and ordered Kadiri’s name to be placed on the sex offenders’ register.
