Library opens book on war
AN EVENT looking at the role Midlothian played in the First World War is being held.
Midlothian Council’s library service has teamed up with the Edinburgh’s War project to host the event, from 10am to noon, at Dalkeith Library on Saturday. Entry is free and experts from the project will be on hand.
Councillor Peter Boyes, cabinet member responsible for libraries, said: “Large numbers of local people volunteered to join the Forces, and many lost their lives.”
