Give me your Tam o’ Shanter
POETS, storytellers, musicians and singers all gathered at the Family Burns Storytellng Ceilidh, in Prestonpans, to share tales and tunes.
The meeting, at The Gothenburg Tavern yesterday, saw Steve – playing Rabbie Burns – read poetry to son Arron Aitchison as part of the event.
Today it was revealed Tam o’ Shanter, has been voted the nation’s favourite Burns poem. Almost a quarter of Scots surveyed chose Tam o’ Shanter, penned in 1790, according to a new poll by YouGov.
