Body found in woodland is identified
A BODY found in a wooded area has been identified as belonging to a man who was reported missing on Sunday.
Police confirmed the dead man was Iain Ovens, 35, who was reported missing on Sunday, February 5.
His body was found in a wooded area in Addiewell in West Lothian on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said there were “no suspicious circumstances” surrounding his death, and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
Mr Ovens, from Polbeth in West Lothian, was last seen leaving a friend’s house in Mooreland Gardens in Addiewell, at about 6.30pm on Sunday.
In an earlier appeal, police had said they concerned about Mr Ovens’ safety following his disappearance, which was “out of character” and had left his family “very worried”.
