Big push for Capital athletes

Capital clubmates Lynsey Sharp and Emily Dudgeon (both Edinburgh AC) are both through to the final of the 800 metres after last night’s heats in the Aviva UK Championships and Olympic Trials in Birmingham.

Dudgeon finished just behind favourite Marilyn Okoro in the first heat while Sharp trotted in second in heat two behind Gemma Simpson.

Glasgow’s Lee McConnell won heat two of the 400m reach the final.

Chris O’Hare (EAC) won heat two of the men’s 1500m in 3:48.21 to reach another final.
