Athletics: Edinburgh second as Central dominate

Jennifer MACLEAN covered the 5.8 miles in 34:00 – the second fastest time of the day for the long stage – to bring Edinburgh AC home in second place in the Scottish Women’s Four-Stage Relays at Almondvale, Livingston.

Victoria Bailie (EAC) was second fastest over the 3.1 miles short stage in 17:44 behind Lyndsay Morrison for Central, who won in 1:44:36.

Central also took the men’s six-stage title in 2:14.51 from Shettleston (1:16.34) with Cambuslang four seconds behind.

Corstorphine took the Capital honours in fourth place (2:19.01), with Hunter’s Bog Trotters (2:22.49) in fifth. Edinburgh AC were seventh.
