Labroue to step down as Kesa chief

JEAN-NOEL Labroue became the latest victim of the retail slowdown as Kesa Electricals yesterday announced its long-time chief executive was stepping down.
The company said the 60-year-old is to retire after a short transition period, handing the reins to Thierry Falque-Pierrotin, who is joining the group in January.
Europe's third-largest electronics retailer, which owns the Comet chain in Britain, Kesa warned last month that its like-for-like sales had fallen by 4.7 per cent in the first quarter, with Labroue admitting trading was deteriorating in all of its markets.
Labroue has been chief executive of Kesa Electricals since it was demerged from Kingfisher in 2003, and had run the division for three years previously.
