THREE former drug users have managed to get themselves clean thanks to an innovative project in the Lothians.
LEAP (Lothians and Edinburgh Abstinence Programme) is celebrating the patients' successful completion of the rehabilitation project.

Steven, David and Joseph, who did not want to reveal their surnames, are the latest graduates of the three-month programme and received certificates on Friday.

Dr David McCartney, of LEAP, said: "I am absolutely delighted for our new graduates, who have all done so well to complete the LEAP project.

"The project is extremely challenging and it is very satisfying and encouraging to see three more patients achieve so much in a short time. Our new graduates have shown that determination and motivation can bring about positive results, and I know this will inspire those patients still in the recovery process."

Steven said: "LEAP has given me a new way of life and the ability to be able to stay clean."

David added: "I feel like I've achieved something positive with my life. I'm happy and hopeful."
