Labour calls for local tax plans to be ditched

LABOUR today called on the Scottish Government to "give firms a chance" and abandon its plans for a local income tax.
Scottish Labour finance spokesman David Whitton said the SNP's proposed tax – which it intends to introduce as a replacement for the council tax – was deeply unpopular with businesses and industry leaders and would cost up to £60m to set up.
