Teenager Max Fricke was none too happy with the single point he scored against Plymouth Devils at Armadale on Friday, but he provided his own antidote by winning his first race for Edinburgh Monarchs in the return Premier League speedway fixture at the St Boniface Arena just 24 hours later.

EDINBURGH Monarchs recovered from a sticky start at Armadale last night to eventually overcome Plymouth Devils 56-36 in a highly entertaining Premier League speedway clash which gives the Capital side plenty of hope of securing a quick double when they travel to the St Boniface Arena for tonight’s return tie.

PLYMOUTH Devils have made something of a hellish start to their 2013 speedway campaign. They have won just one of their six competitive matches so far, but they make the long trek north to face Edinburgh Monarchs at Armadale tonight with an extremely good looking team on paper – one which Monarchs will not take lightly.

EDINBURGH MONARCHS eased into speedway’s League Cup semi-finals after an untroubled 56-36 victory over arch-rivals Glasgow Tigers in last night’s group qualifying tie at Armadale Stadium.

Edinburgh MONARCHS will seal their place in the League Cup semi-finals if they defeat Glasgow Tigers in 
tonight’s qualifying group tie at Armadale and, having 
already crushed them 59-31 in the Spring Trophy last month, Monarchs feel the Ashfield side will be easy meat again.
