United report Celtic to SPL over ticket cash

Dundee United have reported Celtic to the Scottish Premier League for late payment of ticket monies for the recent match between the sides.
United claim they are owed in the region of £85,000 for tickets sold by the Glasgow club for the August 17 Tannadice clash.

SPL rules state payment must be made within 10 days of the match.
Although United have reported the champions, the club insist they have no reason to believe the money will not be paid.

"It is a routine matter," a United spokesman told PA Sport.
"We are sure the money will be paid by Celtic but it has gone outwith a certain time frame and therefore we are obliged to report it to the SPL."

Today's news comes in the wake of Celtic imposing a 5% handling charge for tickets sold by them to the Glasgow club's fans for away games.
Celtic and Glasgow rivals Rangers imposed the charges despite opposition from rival SPL clubs, including United.

Pay them he-haw

These diddy wee teams have been creaming money off of mighty Celtic men for many's a year.

The vast majority of their home games are played in half empty grounds.

Over and above the 5% handling charge, Celtic should also charge appearance fees for filling these clubs grounds so that some of the monies which we pay for tickets go back into the Celtic coffers.

It's doubtful that Celtic forgot to pay it, so no doubt this is just them further abusing their position by warning the other teams that they can withhold payment from the teams that are refusing to buckle to their new "tax". Let's face it, it's not as if the SPL or SFA will do anything about it...

The only time you ever see the Old Firm come together on any subject is when they're abusing the other teams.

United should bill Celtc for what Rentokil charge us to disinfect the pi55-stained closies around Tannadice when the unwashed hordes have come visiting. And if we also passed on the costs of all of the thefts from those display racks outside shoe shops in the Wellgate, you lot would be bankrupt by October.

That's if you bothered paying, of course.

A thought the mighty celtic should've had a draw the day at leat. We wuz robbed of 2 penalties.

Ah think that rearrangers should've had at least three sent aff.

Mind you the ref did his bit with two soft yellows to cousin. I think desmond needs to up the ante when he meets the ref before the gemme in future.

If other clubs bump up the money for either side of the OF by 10-15 quid which they do, then why shouldnt some of that come back to the OF? given no other teams pay such overrated prices, and we bring so many with the support, why should it only be the OF who pay the 'tax'? or do you think the Robin Hood Gift Shop should sponsor the league?

The only thinbg firm about the Old Firm is the solidity of their shared brain cell! It's easy to bully when you're the two big fish in a small pond but, truth is, neither amount to that much on the world stage. If they are so self-important and so disdainful of other Scottish clubs why not leave them to a league of two and let them just play with each other - literally!!!

First of all, since the minks are clearly struggling to figure out what 5% means - hence the delay - then I'm not surprised that you don't know how many pound coins make 10. Or 15, even.

Prices do go up when the unwashed come to town.

That's because they're "Category A" games.

As decided by the polis - not the Clubs.

Category A = more polis required.

"Why is that?", I hear you ask.

(Actually, you said "Amla'at - Howzat, but byraway big man nawrat?", but I translated so that the educated readers get the gist of what you meant).

It's because the polis feel there is a greater risk of the unwashed getting up to things that they shouldn't. Like snaffling the displays from Clarks. Or stealing sweeties from wee bairns. Or turning Manchester city centre into something resembling Hiroshima. Or trying to stuff Willo Flood into a brown bag, telling everyone "It's just Buckie nawrat byraway man, but" and smuggling him back to Glasgow. And only returning 95% of him. A month late.

So they need more polis, because you lot can't be trusted to behave. More polis = more money. So they charge you lot more.

Easy, eh?

Of course, if you could stand upright, with knuckles level with your thighs, and behave like normal civilised people who are not from Glasgow, then the extra polis wouldn't be needed, and you would be "Category B" or even "Category C".

Of course, United should still charge you more anyway, just because you're minks.
