Wood Group secures £250 million deal

FRENCH oil giant Total yesterday renewed its £250 million engineering contract with Wood Group, the Aberdeen-based oil and gas services heavyweight.

The three-year deal, which could be extended by a further two years, covers Total's gas terminal at St Fergus, in Aberdeenshire, and the Alwyn, Dunbar, Elgin and Franklin fields in the North Sea.

Under the terms of the contract, Wood Group will continue to provide engineering design, procurement, construction and ancillary services. The firm said the contract could be worth up to 50m a year.

Wood Group Engineering's Total contract currently employs 240 workers onshore in Aberdeen and Glasgow, plus offshore personnel.
