Wiseman set to milk south-west
SCOTTISH dairy operator Robert Wiseman is to increase its presence in the south-west of England after agreeing a fresh multi- million pound acquisition.
The firm, which last month unveiled a six per cent rise in profits, said it would buy dairy co-operative Milk Link's fresh milk business for an expected 5.5 million, providing the deal is not referred to competition officials.
As part of the deal, Wiseman will enter into a supply contract with Milk Link for a proportion of its raw milk requirements in south-west England.
Chief executive Robert Wiseman said: "This acquisition complements our plans to open a new 46m dairy in Bridgwater, Somerset, in autumn 2007."
