Wii drought to cost Nintendo

NINTENDO could miss out on up to £639 million in sales because it has failed to meet the high levels of demand for its popular Wii console, according to leading analysts.

MDB Capital, which monitors activity in the retail sector, said that the gaming company could have sold double the 1.8 million consoles it is manufacturing each month.

Production has been hit by a shortage of components, although Nintendo has said it is doing all it can to meet demand.
