WFS contract win
SCOTTISH technology company WFS has won a $830,000 (£417,000) contract from US firm General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems to develop new communications techniques for the US Office of Naval Research, part of the US Department of Defense.
WFS, which specialises in radio frequency technology that travels through water and ground, will work on the project for two years.
It has recently opened an office in Houston, Texas, and hopes this latest contract will allow it to break into the competitive US market.
Brendan Hyland, chairman and chief executive of WFS, said: "I hope that this contract will be the first of many for us in the US."
