Virgin gives in over Heathrow fees
Virgin Atlantic yesterday said it would pay BAA fees it had withheld over the part closure of London's Heathrow airport late last year after the operator said it would take legal action to recover the cash.
The airline said: "Virgin Atlantic has agreed reluctantly to pay BAA's overdue landing and parking fees as it has threatened to take immediate action and whatever steps it deems appropriate to recover outstanding sums."
Heathrow was paralysed in December, leading to a spate of flight cancellations, after its second runway was closed by snow and freezing conditions.
