HIA unveils 'global outlook' rebrand
HIGHLANDS and Islands Airports is being rebranded as part of efforts to modernise its image and highlight its importance to the economy of northern Scotland.
The owner of 10 airports, including Inverness, Stornoway and Wick, HIA will operate under the strapline 'Local Access, Global Outlook' and a new corporate identity will be used in the airports, on the website and on all promotional material and stationary.
The work will be carried out by 442 Design, an Edinburgh design agency, and will be unveiled in the coming months.
A spokesman for HIA said: "The original HIA brand came into being in 1986 and the company's remit and operations have expanded since then. It is important that our identity fits the changing profile of the company and our growing customer base. HIA is playing an increasingly important role in developing the Highland economy and enabling local access for many new international destinations."
David Dunn, director at 442, added: "The previous HIA identity was a bit harsh and industrial. We wanted to create a more consumer-friendly brand that sits comfortably with the changing profile of the company and its plans for expansion. The new identity is light, fresh and inherently Highland."
