Trams force a new approach

A RETAILER in Leith said a renewed focus on networking and diversifying his offering have helped him overcome tram disruption.

Graeme Veitch, owner of the Carpet Bargain Store, said his average sales plummeted by 12,500 in just six months as a result of tram work.

He said that the firm had actively sought new business opportunities through networking and commercial projects, which had "virtually replaced the customer from the street".
