Software firm lands on procurement G-Cloud
Ecometrica, an Edinburgh-based firm whose “green” software is being used by companies as diverse as oil major BP and insurance giant RSA, has secured a place on a key government procurement scheme.
The G-Cloud procurement framework is set to smooth the collaboration between suppliers and the UK government at both central and local level.
The strategy has been estimated by some experts to have the potential to reduce public sector technology costs by some £12 billion a year by 2020. The news follows the announcement last month that Ecometrica had received a six-figure funding deal from Highgate Tech Fund – marking its first backing of a Scottish technology business.
