Sutherland in frame for BP chairman job

BP is moving closer to identifying a new chairman to replace Sir Peter Sutherland.

The oil giant is believed to have chosen Paul Anderson, a US mining and energy executive, as a front runner for the role – alongside one other person who has not yet been named.

A replacement for Sutherland – a former non-executive director at Royal Bank of Scotland – is expected to be appointed by the end of the month.
