Nothing to Xcite as shares fall on report
OIL explorer Xcite Energy, one of Scotland's most hotly followed companies, yesterday lost a quarter of its market value as the market reacted badly to lower than expected estimates of reserves in its North Sea field (Scotsman).
Energy firm guilty over sales tactics
One of the UK's big six energy companies has been found guilty of using misleading sales tactics when doorstep sales representatives convinced potential customers to change suppliers. Scottish and Southern Energy reps used a script and a print-out to make customers believe they were paying too much with their current supplier (Scotsman).

Haughey targets 700m turnover in three years
GLASGOW entrepreneur Willie Haughey yesterday claimed he was on target to double turnover at his City Refrigeration business to more than 700 million in three years, driven by a recently-signed lucrative facilities management contract with Asda as well as UK and US opportunities (Herald).

Sainsbury's annual profits rise by 12.8%
Supermarket group Sainsbury's has reported a 12.8% rise in annual pre-tax profits to 827m and says that it has taken market share from rivals. The retailer also said that total revenues for the year to 19 March had risen by 5.7% to 21bn (BBC).
