Tycoon Mallya mulls sale of Whyte & Mackay
WHISKY distiller Whyte & Mackay may be put up for sale by Indian billionaire Vijay Mallya to help clear his debts. Mallya’s United Spirits told the Bombay stock exchange that the sale of its 49 per cent stake in the Glasgow-based firm was one of several options being considered by the company (Scotsman).

A GROUP of property companies involving one of the country’s best-known entrepreneurs has collapsed amid the downturn in the market. Receivers have been appointed to six companies in the Real Corporation stable, which is part-owned by Richard Emanuel, the mobile phone tycoon (Herald).
