'Scam culture' is a threat to the old

ALMOST nine out of ten people in the UK think that older people are more at risk of scams now than in previous years, with three-quarters worried their older relatives could fall victim to a scam.

Research from charity Age Concern shows that 65 per cent of British people have seen an increase in the amount of scam letters and e-mails they receive in the last two years.

Age Concern had published a new booklet for older people called How to Avoid Scams.
