S&N goes Dutch with new Blood
HEINEKEN has begun the integration of Scottish & Newcastle by appointing a new managing director for its new UK business.
The Edinburgh-based brewer today formally moved into Dutch hands and appointed Jeremy Blood, who was already managing director of S&N's UK business, to head up its UK operations.
He is to be based in Edinburgh, where Heineken's UK operations are to be based. Mr Blood has been MD of S&N in the UK since December 2007.
S&N, which makes a range of products including Fosters, John Smiths and Kronenbourg, agreed to a takeover bid from the Carlsberg and Heineken consortium in March.
Its shares were delisted today at 8am as it officially became a part of Heineken. The company will also gain control of the Caledonian Brewery in Edinburgh.
