Rolls-Royce unveils $2bn engine deals
ROLLS-ROYCE yesterday unveiled a major boost to its order book after agreeing deals for new engines with Air China and Ethiopian Airlines.
The group announced the orders – worth a combined $2 billion (1.2bn) – on the first day of the Dubai Air Show.
Air China, a flag carrier with a fleet of 243 aircraft, has placed an order for the company's Trent 700 engines to power 20 A330 aircraft being delivered from 2011. Rolls said the deal, which includes service support, was worth about $1.5bn.
Ethiopian's order covers Trent engines for 12 A350 wide-body planes entering service in 2017.
