Waitrose to sell range of 6,000 gardening products
Employee-owned supermarket chain Waitrose will branch out into the gardening market with a range of 6,000 products.
The horticultural range will be in all its main outlets by mid-April, including its five stores in Scotland, and 41 branches will feature outdoor “sheds” selling plants and gardening accessories.
The firm, part of the John Lewis Partnership, recently signed up TV gardener Alan Titchmarsh to promote British produce. He will now offer gardening tips on a new website called Waitrosegarden.com.
