PZ Cussons sales up but profits down
Supermarket special offers have driven a 12 per cent profits fall at Imperial Leather maker PZ Cussons after it struggled to pass on £20 million of cost hikes to consumers.
Strong trading in the UK, boosted by the launch of Carex Protect Plus handwash, which kills bacteria for two hours, helped push revenues up 10.5 per cent to £414 million in the six months to November. But profits fell to £39.2m.
